Our sushi chef prepares everything in-house daily using premium ingredients, from classic nigiri and maki rolls to sashimi platters and signature specialty rolls. Our sushi menu is designed to offer something for everyone, from first-timers to seasoned sushi lovers. Every piece is prepared fresh to order by our experienced sushi chef.

NIGIRI

Nigiri is sushi in its purest form: a slice of fresh fish pressed over seasoned rice. Our nigiri selection includes salmon, kingfish, tuna, prawn, scallop, and seasonal specials. Each piece is hand-formed and served with just enough wasabi to complement the fish without overpowering it.

MAKI ROLLS

Our maki rolls range from traditional options like salmon avocado and tuna cucumber through to more creative house specials. The Izakaya Rin special roll is a customer favourite, combining premium ingredients with a presentation that makes it as enjoyable to look at as it is to eat.

SASHIMI

For those who prefer their fish without rice, our sashimi platters showcase the freshest cuts available. The mixed sashimi platter is the most popular choice, featuring a generous selection of salmon, kingfish, tuna, and seasonal varieties. Each slice is cut with precision to bring out the best texture and flavour of the fish.

ABURI SUSHI

Aburi (flame-seared) sushi is one of our signature offerings. The salmon aburi roll features lightly torched salmon over rice, creating a delicate smoky flavour and a melt-in-your-mouth texture. It’s one of the dishes that keeps customers coming back.

Japanese beer: Sapporo and Asahi are the classic companions to sushi. Clean, crisp, and perfectly refreshing.

Great sushi restaurant with a great view of the lake. Went on a Thursday at 5PM, and the restaurant was empty. Got the sashimi special and a spicy tuna roll. Grew up in Southern California and have had a ton of different sushi places all in and around LA. This place was way better, but there was only one other table that came in while we ate over an hour and a half. They’re extremely hospitable, and make delicious food. Hidden gem that honestly deserves more attention and business.

My boyfriend and I went for a casual dinner and we’re already excited by just looking at the options, we had three things, the dumplings, crispy salmon sushi and the udon seafood all very beautifully presented and full of balanced flavour. We both gave each meal a personal rating of 9/10 or above! Will definitely be returning!

Nice slightly upmarket Japanese restaurant. Servings are smaller than other places but the quality and taste of the food are spectacular. We had the nigiri moriawase (mixed sushi), wagyu beef curry udon (meat was tender and curry broth was delectable, finished every drop), and we had the crispy salmon roll, topped with roe and tempura bits and sauce. In the end it was a perfect serving for both of us, and we had a strawberry lychee soda and a green tea to wash it down. Comfortable and quiet place, perfect for date night, family or small celebrations, and nice view of the lake outside.

The food was really yummy and fresh. Good portion as well. We had the yuzu oysters, sashimi, spicy crispy salmon sushi, wagyu sushi, grilled squid. Would recommend.

Amazing food and flavours, the presentation can only be described as art. Expensive, but this isn't sushi hub - you will see and taste why. Great for a treat or a special night out

I always come back here for the sushi rolls - especially the spicy tuna, dragon and salmon rolls. Super flavoural and I love how the rolls have crunchy bits in it as well. An appetizer I like alongside it is the ika balls - the batter is crunchy, and I actually like it better than the traditional takoyaki. My go to Japanese place in the west side - been here about 5 times and thought to leave a review now.

We had an amazing dinner here. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The sushi was outstanding—some of the best I’ve had in Melbourne. The ambiance by the lake was perfect, and my little boy absolutely loved watching the ducks. He enjoyed the food as much as we did! Highly recommend for a great dining experience.

Food here is so fresh and tasty, just like the original Izumi restaurant. I especially recommend the ‘spicy tuna’ sushi roll, outstanding!. Service was also impeccable. Always great to see owners on site, taking pride in their restaurants. Highly recommend as a great local eatery.

We Really enjoyed the food here. Everything tasted fresh. Presentation of food were great. We ordered a few plates of sushi and sides of scallops, tempura prawns ,truffle fries rice and edemame beans. To our surprise we got a dessert platter for free! What a win 🙂 would definitely come back here for a date night again!

This place is a little bit out of the way for me but definitely worth it. The place is cozy and spacious with a beautiful and relaxing view of the park. They have a wide range of menu from mains to sushi to desserts. We had signature box, curry udon, a few of their desserts. Their tiramisu daifuku and crepe cake and as well as the mochi ice cream are my favourite as these have the right level of sweetness. Their crab salad is also one of my favourites, it has the balance taste of both veggie and crab, Their staff, although very busy when we reached about lunch time were quite accommodating and friendly. It took us a bit of time to take photos and eat too but they were very helpful and kept checking in on us and ensured we got everything we needed.

Our favourite for Japanese food! The Izakaya Rin Signature Box, with its 9 types of sushi and sashimi, was a highlight. It was fresh and beautifully presented. Perfect for a special occasion or a cozy night out. Highly recommend this place!!!

A very fresh and delicious Japanese meal, from seafood sasimi or sushi, to fresh wasabi, very fast and friendly service. Great restaurant space with view overlooking the lake. It was so delicious and so wonderful, we ate so much. A memorable meal.

Overall, a solid dining experience. The atmosphere was inviting and the service was friendly, although it was a little fresh with the air-conditioning. The food was well-prepared and flavorful, with a good variety of traditional Japanese dishes to choose from. The sushi was fresh and the sashimi beautifully presented. While the portions were generous, the pricing felt a bit on the higher side. Nonetheless, it's a great spot for a tasty meal with friends or family.

Our second time here...and many more visits to come. The food here is exceptional! And beats quite a few spots I've had in the city. Cannot fault a thing. Personal favs definitely were the truffle scallop and the sushi (cant remember the exact name of the one we got) and their truffle fried rice! Thursdays is half price cocktails! And to top everything off, great service.

What a great experience! The food was very tasteful and I will definitely be trying all of the sushi options next time. Recommend trying any of their daifuku dessert, spider rolls and spicy crispy salmon rolls.

So happy to have discovered this local gem! Hard to find a great Japanese restaurant out in the West but Izakaya Rin has definitely been outstanding! Ordered the: * Scallop Truffle * Sushi, Sashimi & Maki Omakase * Kaki Fry * Wagyu Truffle Fried Rice * Lychee Shochu Highball Can confidently say that everything tasted amazing! The sushi & sashimi were so fresh and the truffle dishes had a lovely truffle aroma. 🤩 Personally was not the biggest fan of the drink though as I expected something that was slightly sweeter but the lychee flavour was yummy.

Finally! A high quality Japanese place in the west. The prices are a bit on the higher end but the quality of the food is definitely there. Love the tempura, sushi/sashimi sets and karage dishes. It’s in front of a lake too which is a bonus.

Salmon Truffle $24. Kaki Fry - Fried Oysters $20. Sushi, Sashimi & Maki Omakase 24pc $64. We were so impressed the first time we knew we’d have to come visit again. This time we tried dishes we didn’t order last time. The salmon was so fresh and had a good amount of truffle flavour on it. The omakase platter was good however small and I feel like I’d be able to devour that myself on a good day!
